Mrs. Staats, wife of the late Vincent R. Staats, died Thursday, February 25, 1999. Born in Kearny, NJ. she was the last surviving child of the late Robert Torrance and Mabel Rothe Rorrance. She was s former director of nursing at Montefieore Hospital in New York City and a supervisor of nursing at the Hebrew Home for the Aged in the Bronx. A lieutenant in teh Navy Nurse Corps during World War II, she served aboard the USS Rescue, a hospital ship.
Surviving are daughters, Nancy S. Layman of Columbia and Lynette Staats of St. George, Utah; grandchildren Aura, Joshua and Benjamin Warburton and Abrabham and Nicholas Layman; great granddaughter, Sky Warburton; and niece Dana England. The State, Cola S.C. 2/25/1999 |
