| Obituary: William Albert Holliday the youngest of four children born to Ruben and Cecelia Holliday of Granham Virginia June 27, 1900. He was preceded in death by two sisters, one brother. Abe as he was lovingly called by everyone who knew him was educated in Wytheville Training School. He met and married Leon Johnson July 1923. From this union they were blessed with eight children, cecelia Jones, Ethel Stephens (deceased), Alice Hill, Ruth Rivers (deceased), Aileen Anderson (deceased), William Albert Holliday, Jr., Mary Davis, Doris Pope (deceased). Abe worked for many yuears superintending the requirements of several office buildings, as well as the Episcopal church in Wytheville. He was loved by everyone with whom he had contact. He was a devoted husband and kind and loving father. "Abe" loved fishing, hunting and gardening. He also loved to bake rolls and cakes every Sunday, on occasion at the church he donated his famous pound cake and rolls. He was a staunch member of Bethel A.M.E. Church, always attended whenever health permitted and served as treasurer for many years. He leaves to cherish his memory, devoted wife, Leon of 77 years; children: Cecelia, Alice, Mary, William Ablert Jr., Daughters-in-law: Louella Holliday, Sons-in-law: Lewis Pope and Marion Rivers. Sister-in-Law Ossie Penn, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
