Obituary: David Richard Gwyn, son of the late James and Aquila Gwyn, was born August 27, 1915, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Most of his life was spent on the Northside. He attended East Street, Latimer and Allegheny High Schools and spent two years at an Industrial School in Mississippi. He was married at an early age to Ruth Trice and to this union five children were born. He served with the 92nd infantry in World War II and received the "Purple Heart" for meritorious service. He departed this life Wednesday, September 20, 1961 about 3:00 P.M. after a lingering illness. 220
