A transcription of his will follows: In the name of God amen I Elias Baker of Sussex County and the State of Delaware being in a very sick and Low condition but of a Sound and perfect memory thanks be to almighty God for the same and being certain that it is appointed for all men once to die and not knowing the certainty of the time thereof I do therefore make and order this my Last will and testament in manner and form following vis first I give and bequeath unto my beloved wife Naomi Baker all my land and livings after all my just debts is paid to have it at her own disposal to raise my children upon and to be Quietly possessed of it during her life or widowhood but if in case this my dear and Loving wife should die or marry again it is my whole will and Desire is that this my whole Land and Livings may be taken and sold and the money to be equally divided among my Children Namely George Baker, Leah Baker, William Baker, Rebekah Baker Joshua Baker and again my ____ will and Desire is that my Beloved wife Should Bind out the boys to such treads (trades) as they see fit to go to as they become old enough.
