"Harrison- The History of a New Jersey Town" records that this William is the father of Lieutenant Peter Sandford609 In the Name of God Amen I William Sandford of New Barbadoes Neck in the County of Bergen and Province of New Jersey Yeoman being sick and weak of Body but of Sound mind and memory blessed be God do this twenty second day of February in the twenty third Year of the Reign of George the Second King & ___ and in the Year of our Lord One Thousand Seven Hundred and Forty Nine Think fit to make and publish this my last Will & Testament in the following manner and form. First I give bequeath and devise to my only son William Sandford the whole of my Plantation containing three hundred acres also one hundred and fifty acres of Meadow to be taken on the Eastward part next to the ditch to be to him and to his heirs and assigns forever but in case he should happen to dye without issue or children lawfully begotten by him my said son then my will is that all the said land and meadow above given to my said son William shall be equally divided amongst all my surviving children share and share alike and be to them and to their heirs and assigns forever. Also I give to my loving wife Catherine Sandford the use of all the above mentioned Land and meadow so long as she remains my widow also all the residue and remainder of my meadows on New Barbadoes Neck I give and bequeath to be equally divided share and share alike between my said wife and my daughters vis. Mary Penington Sarah Sandford Elizabeth Sandford Frances Sandford Rachel Sandford & Catherine Sandford to be to them their heirs and assigns forever that is to each a seventh part thereof. Also, I give to my aid wife my great Bible Also I give to my said daughter Sarah my silver tankard also all the cows she now claims or calls hers which ware three in number and a steer calf also I give to each of my other daughters excepting Mary one cow now called theirs also all the residue and remainder of my moveable or personal estate whatsoever remaining besides what is above given and paying my just debts and funeral charges I give to my said wife and all my said children to be equally divided between them share and share alike. And lastly I do appoint and make John Law and John Vanderool Sole executors of this my last will and testament making void all other wills by me made holding and allowing this and no other to be my last will and testament.
