Notes for Bessie (Spouse 2) |
Her maiden name may have been Barnett. Aunt Pat Hicks said she had two uncles (Bessie's brothers?) Uncle Haskin married to Aunt Carrie and Uncle Skipwith from 125th Street New York. She said she asked her mother Bessie about who her grandfather was when she was in her forties. Her mother told her that her true father was the Mayor of Boydton, VA. (a white man) Aunt Pat also said that an Aunt Henrietta Green from Moorestown once sent her picture of her grandmother Skipwith (Bessie's mother) and she has a letter detailing the family history. |
